Job Responsibilities:
Facilities Technician
Central Rural Electric Cooperative
Exhibiting stewardship for the cooperative, the Facilities Technician professionally represents the cooperative by performing the day-to-day operations such as: grounds-keeping work, general clean-up, washing cooperative vehicles and carrying out the objectives and goals of the facilities department.

Core Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described below are the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be all inclusive for this position.
•
Perform general clean-up work at the Cooperative facilities either with direct or indirect supervision. Duties may include removing debris, stacking pallets, utilizing power sweeper for parking areas, manually sweeping, power washing parking and walking areas, assist in moving office furniture and equipment, and set up Training Center for various meetings.
•
Ensure that premises and equipment are well maintained, clean, orderly condition and safe.
•
Operate automobiles, light duty trucks, tractors, and other Cooperative equipment and perform duties incidental to the operation of such equipment. May include operating brush-hog, box-blade and/or forklift.
•
Shovel and sweep snow, assist in snow removal, apply Ice Melt to facility parking lots and walking surfaces.
•
Perform or assist with grounds-keeping work. May include some minor building maintenance, (painting, changing light bulbs, etc.)
•
Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations.
•
Daily runs to the post office to retrieve cooperative mail and delivering bank deposit to bank.
•
Perform duties in accordance with the Cooperative’s safety rules, operating regulations, and practices; report any unsafe conditions or practices.
•
Responsible for following all cooperative safety policies and procedures.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Reports to Facilities Coordinator
•
Decisions and duties are highly structured and reviewed and have a controlled impact on the organization. Work requires a moderate degree of responsibility for information, technology and/or equipment.
•
Position has no formal supervisory responsibility for the work of others.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications

Specific requirements and competencies include:
•
Solid Educational Background - High school diploma or equivalent required with at least 1 year of relative work experience preferred.
•
Ability to work with minimal supervision with a demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
•
Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer service oriented.
•
Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task.
•
Must have ability to operate tractors, (i.e., brush-hog, box-blade), skid steer, power sweeper and hand tools.
•
Must have knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and custodial duties.
•
Must be CPR/First Aid and Forklift certified or possess the ability to obtain such certifications within one year of employment.
•
Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
•

Working Conditions
Work Environment
Regular exposure to moving machinery and/or vehicles; regular exposure to weather including heat, cold, dampness and/or humidity.
Work Hazards
Frequent exposure to extremes in noises, temperatures, distractions, etc. Frequent exposure to hazards.
Physical Demands:

Heavy physical exertion required for this position. Lifting 100 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as computer printouts, map books, ledgers, small tools, computer monitors, etc. Walking and standing will be required. Reaching. Handling. Fingering. Feeling. Talking. Hearing.
This position is also required to drive company vehicles.
